Welcome to Cecil and Grace Bean’s Soup Kitchen. We’re glad you’re here!

Our soup kitchen serves over 700 meals weekly to those struggling with food insecurity in the Norristown community. While it’s our goal to play an integral part in eliminating hunger altogether, we recognize that food insecurity exists in America. As long as hungry people are in our area, we’ll be here to provide them with a meal.

Soup kitchens like ours have been feeding Americans since 1929. St. John’s Episcopal Church founded the soup kitchen in 1979 as part of its social ministry. In 2015, an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation called Cecil and Grace Bean’s Soup Kitchen was formed. The soup kitchen is still in its original location on the church property.

Please take a few moments to check out our website to discover how you can get involved in our work in Norristown. Whether you’re interested in volunteering in person, organizing a donation drive, or making a financial contribution, there’s a way for you to partner with us!
